Remember When I...Sample

Remember When I...

DAY 19 OF 21

About a year ago, I was in my second year of college, finishing the fall semester, and struggling with my grades. I felt discouraged and had no idea how to tell my parents that I was failing. Instead of being honest about my grades, I lied because I was afraid of how they’d react. A few weeks later, I felt this push to come clean and tell them the truth. I didn’t want to, but I decided it was something I had to do. When I told my parents what was going on, they didn’t respond out of frustration like I expected. Instead, they showed me love, and they even prayed for me. I thought I was making the best decision by hiding the truth to avoid punishment, but because they cared about me, they helped me and encouraged me.

In this same way, God does not treat us harshly when we mess up. God’s love is bigger than all of our mistakes. God is always ready to welcome us; we just have to be honest. We don’t have to carry what weighs us down alone.
