A Year in Luke/ActsSample

One reason we look back at prophecies of the first advent is to recognize themes that help us live faithfully as we await the second advent. God does not change; the promises that we read about the Messiah in books like Isaiah remind us that God is faithful.
It is wonderful to reflect on how yokes, burdens, and warrior’s boots are being destroyed in this prophecy. In an unexpected twist, verse 6 says, " For a child has been born to us…” This child is God's antidote to a dark world. This child will wield the most powerful weapon there is: love. This child is the Savior we remember this Advent season.
