3 Steps to Being a KINGDOM BUILDER in Your Life Today - Part 3

DAY 3 OF 5

Our guideword "BRING" reminds you how to live as a Kingdom-building Christian in your daily life at home, around town, and at work.

So far, we’ve checked the need to “Be prepared with your Testimony” and refreshed with “Remember the basics” to make your witness effective.

Today, we look at the letter “I,” which means “Introduce the gospel into your conversation.”

Once again, this is where it gets scary, right? After all, how do you move from a normal conversation with friends, neighbors, coworkers, or family into sharing the gospel? And when are you supposed to do that?

Let’s start by saying that sharing the gospel is not something you do every day; rather, it is at those moments when God prepares the other person’s heart, especially to hear your story.

Remember the letter “B” from the word “BLESS”? In that reading, we recognized how important it was to “Begin with prayer,” just like Jesus did when he was here on earth. In the same way as effectively BLESSing someone and knowing what to do and when to do it, you need to pray before sharing the gospel.

Most often, your sharing of the gospel will come as an extension to BLESSing someone. As you engage with them to BLESS them, they may express sincere thanks or even a sense of wonder why you might be taking the time to help them at all. Or maybe you’re BLESSing them because they are in the midst of a crisis – at home, at work, or just inside themselves.

You coming to BLESS them – whether they are your coworker, family member, friend or neighbor – is a significant event for them, and meets their need. And, as you BLESS them, you may be prompted to say something more, to introduce the gospel.

That is the moment to speak up!

But just don’t dive into sharing your Testimony; instead, start by asking them questions about why they are having a hard time, what they think about it, and what might help them. Get them to talk, and as they do, pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you as to what to say.

Sometimes, the door will open for you to share your Testimony and details of the gospel message with them, and at other times, it won’t.

Or, you may feel led to ask that person you are BLESSing if you might pray for them. Very few people will reject an offer of prayer, especially when they are in a crisis. So ask them if you can pray for them, and then just pray with and for them right then & there.

However your conversation or prayer time with them goes, be sure to offer to continue the dialog. Ensure they know you are there for them when (and if) they want. Then, somewhere along the line, the conversation will deepen, they will start asking questions, and then the time will be perfect for you to share your story, your problems, and how you got through them with God’s help – it will be the time to share your Testimony!

Remember what the Bible says: people need to hear the gospel in order to be saved:

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ”. – Romans 10:17

In many cases, the only way your unsaved friends, neighbors, family members, and coworkers will hear the gospel is from YOU—not from your pastor, your church, or other missionary types.

After all, that’s why God has placed YOU in their circle, hasn’t He?

About this Plan

3 Steps to Being a KINGDOM BUILDER in Your Life Today - Part 3

“BRING” is the third & final guideword in our 3-part series for living as a Kingdom-building Christian. Mostly, your Christian life will consist of being a good example (“NICER”) and loving others (“BLESS”), yet we are instructed in the Bible always to be ready to explain the hope that we have. In this reading plan, we look at when and how to share the gospel's good news to help build God's Kingdom here on earth, easily and without fear. Be blessed as you read this plan to equip yourself.
