Week 21. Day 4. Jeremiah 46-49.
This is a longer section, with many oracles (prophecies of judgment) against the nations. Don’t get lost in the detail, rather see the big picture of what the purpose was of these prophesies for God’s people
- To reassure God’s people that their enemies will be defeated (e.g. 46:27-28)
- To show the folly of looking to these nations for help, rather than turning to God
Also look for promises of restoration even for these nations that fall under God’s judgment.
NOTE: Days 1-5 of each week contain the scripture reading for that week. Day 6 has just the 'key chapters'. If you want a briefer version of this plan that still takes you through the whole Bible, you could just read the key chapters featured on day 6. Day 7 has the podcast video where we discuss the week's reading.
