How Do You Follow Jesus?

DAY 2 OF 3

What does dedication mean?

Jesus is quite clear about what it means to follow Him. He describes that dedication and the measure of it in for example Luke 14:33:

‘So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.’

This means nothing more and nothing less than that Jesus must come first place in your life. Above your family, your children, your partner, your work, your possessions, and especially also above yourself. Jesus must be set above ‘everything’.

He has our best interests at heart, but we must fully ‘trust’ Him and ‘dedicate’ ourselves fully to Him. Otherwise, you are not a real ‘disciple’ of the Master.

Jesus says: follow Me, learn from Me, do what I do, walk as I walk, and act as I act. I am trustworthy and I have the very best for you!

What does that dedication look like for you right now?

How consciously do you go about it?

Do you fully serve Him? Or are there aspects in your life that you don’t entrust Jesus with?

Like your finances, your health, love?

Every day, it is a very conscious decision to lay your life on the altar for the Lord. Every day you choose to give Jesus control and to go through life, to act, and to walk with Him.

When you do that, you will bear fruit. And in that, God is glorified. Isn’t that great?! (John 15:8)

Jesus went ‘all in’, will you also go ‘all in’?
