DAY 21
As citizens of heaven, we are invited by our King to run the race of life for a heavenly prize. A prize much better than anything the kingdom of this world has to offer. While others might be chasing money, pleasure, external peace or comfort, we fix our eyes on Jesus.
In week one, we explored God’s desire to dwell and abide with us. God’s desire has now become our desire as a result of the Holy Spirit stirring within believers a yearning to be with the Lord. The good news for us is our King is returning!
In 1 Thessalonians, all five chapters end with a reminder that Jesus is coming. The last two chapters of the Bible, Revelation 21 and 22, talk about the heavenly city that is coming. We run hard and serve God with our whole beings in anticipation of Jesus’ return, knowing we will one day be united with Him!
In the meantime, we are not alone. God has already come near through the Holy Spirit, giving us real solutions for today’s problems.
As we face brokenness, healing comes through the Holy Spirit. As we are left speechless while listening to stories of heartache, a word of encouragement comes to our lips here and now by His Spirit. As we confront anxiety, peace comes through the Holy Spirit. God is ever-present. His Spirit is with us here and now, AND Jesus is coming back!
