Consider
During this Advent season, as you meditate on Christ’s kingship and His role as the Son of the Most High, it can be meaningful to name specific areas where you are longing for His renewal, healing, or guidance. At the same time, celebrate His faithfulness—perhaps by recalling a time when He fulfilled a promise or answered a prayer.
This is a sacred time to reorient your heart to the truth that Jesus is still at work, bringing His Kingdom into this world's brokenness and that one day, He will come again to complete that work in full.
Ponder:
Where do you feel lost, broken, and need healing today?
What do you need from Jesus to reawaken those parts of your heart that have fallen asleep?
How could you intentionally behold (or observe) Jesus today?
Activate:
- Notice what you are thinking about today. When you start to fixate on your own weaknesses, try fixing your thoughts on Jesus. Journal about how Jesus is currently being glorified through your weaknesses.
- Ask the Lord to give you wisdom, especially when you need direction.
- Spend time thanking God for the many ways He has already healed you.
- Journal about the desires that you are waiting for God to answer.
- Create something that commemorates how the Lord is healing you or has healed you in the past.
About this Plan
A 5-day devotional based on the song “Royal Son.” Each day will include a space for stillness, Scripture, considering a devotional thought, pondering questions, and activating what you just read with practical next steps. Because this is considered an Advent/Christmas song, some suggestions will pertain to the Christmas holiday.
