Jeremiah continues to deliver a series of sermons concerning Judah’s willful sinning and continued violations of the Covenant. He warns that divine judgment comes from drought, famine, and sword. He reveals how, like a hardened pot, the people’s hearts are no longer pliable in God’s hands and must now be completely broken. His message is rejected, and Jeremiah is beaten and put in stocks overnight.
