How to Redeem Your Time

DAY 5 OF 9

Preaching the gospel

A city set on a mountain, a lamp in the center of the house, the salt that gives flavor to life. These three metaphors, which Jesus uses, make the deepest meaning of “preach the gospel.”

To preach the gospel is one of the most important components both of worshiping and of serving God. It means being used by God for the purpose for which He created us and for which He redeemed us. It highlights the nature of which the children of God are made and the reason why they live.

The city on the mountain is clearly visible and recognizable, placed as a testimony and protection for those who seek God. The lamp illuminates in the darkness and highlights the strengths and weaknesses of each person and thing while it indicates the way and sheds light on the path. The salt gives flavor, preserves, heals, makes one thirsty, and pushes one to seek the water of life. Jesus says that, as His disciples, we “are” these three things and the world needs them to reach Him and be saved.

For this reason, the time used to preach the gospel is a redeemed time. Not only that but through it, we have the opportunity to make those we witness to recover time. In the moments in which we bring them the light of the Gospel, they experience time well spent together with God through our instrumentality.

About this Plan

How to Redeem Your Time

How many times have we wanted to go back in time to remedy the mistakes made or to avoid unpleasant situations? Unfortunately, this desire remains only a dream because we cannot travel in time. But in Christ, we have the possibility to use the present time in the best way, recovering through faith every moment of our life and spending it in the abundance of God's blessing. How is this possible?
