Six Lessons for AdventSample
Uncommon greeting to the favored one
When the angel Gabriel came from heaven to announce the coming of Jesus to Mary, he said,
“Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” – Luke 1:28 (NKJV)
Mary was very troubled by what the angel said, thinking about what manner of greeting this was. But guess what? That is how God announces His favor in several lives. He usually does something uncommon in the lives of all He favors, and unusual happenings usually accompany that act of God.
If God calls you favored, get ready for your life to be beyond ordinary. Think about the mental health trauma Mary would have to bear for carrying over God’s promise of a child for nine months without being married. If Joseph would have left her, she would have been considered a harlot. At that time in Israel, women who got pregnant out of wedlock were usually stoned to death if they got reported. Hmm!
Dear one, your case may not be like Mary’s. But for sure, if God has great plans for you as His favored one, you aren’t going to get a normal life. Things may be messy. In the midst of the storm, never give up on God. He is and will always be with you.
You are a blessing!
