Rediscovering the True Meaning of ChristmasSample
JESUS CHANGED EVERYTHING!
Let’s focus on the true meaning of Christmas. We can never underestimate the impact and absolute joy of celebrating the birth of our Savior! For Christians, Christmas means God’s love became visible in human form, taking dominion over the sin that had held mankind in bondage and assuring us of salvation.
May this truth impact your heart in a whole new way this Christmas: Jesus’s birth changed history! He is God in the flesh, and because of His incarnation, His death, burial, and resurrection, anyone who receives Him as Lord is now seated with Him in heaven, with direct access to God.
The birth of Messiah was a fulfillment of prophecy and His sacrifice saved humanity. John 3:16 says it all: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I love how the great evangelist Billy Graham described the message of Christmas: “The birth of Christ heralds the entrance of God into human history. It’s Heaven descending to Earth. It announced to a despairing, hopeless, and frustrated world the coming of the Prince of Peace. It answers all the great questions that plague the human race at this hour. The Christmas message is relevant, revolutionary, and reassuring to us today. Luke 2 tells us that on that first Christmas night, the angel came to humble, fearful shepherds and said, Fear not, I bring you good news. This is the true meaning of Christmas—the Good News—that God sent His only Son to Earth to save people from their sins. It’s not a myth, not a tradition, not a dream—it is a glorious reality.”
As you exchange gifts this Christmas, remember the priceless gift that God has given you in Jesus – the gift that you are loved, forgiven of sin, never alone, and headed for heaven.
And it’s the perfect time to share this gift with anyone who doesn’t know Him – don’t keep it to yourself! This time of year, people’s hearts are open. Take time to tell them the Good News -- that Christ loves them, has already paid the price for their sin, wants them in Him family, and promises eternal life to all who accept Him.
God’s love is for everyone who will accept it by receiving Jesus. God is not mad at us! He sent Jesus to save us (John 14:6). Jesus changed everything. That is the true meaning of Christmas.
