Pathways to IntimacySample
Be Still
Scripture Reading: “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
In our fast-paced world, the demand for our attention never seems to cease. Amid the noise of daily life, both inside and outside us, it can often feel impossible to find quiet. Yet precisely in the stillness, we encounter God. Today, I invite you to embrace this sacred discipline of stillness, a practice that invites divine presence and guidance into our busy lives.
Reflection:
Have you noticed how often your mind races with thoughts and worries, drowning out the still, small voice of God? In the chaos, we can easily lose sight of His direction and peace. But remember, God calls us to be still, not because it’s beyond our reach but because it is truly within our capability.
Stillness is more than just a pause from activity; it’s a pathway to intimacy with the Holy Spirit. When we quiet our souls and step away from the to-do lists and distractions, we open ourselves to a deeper relationship with God. This connection not only replenishes our spirit but also ignites the fire of the Holy Spirit within us.
As you prepare to practise stillness today, approach God with openness. Simply say, “Lord, I come to You. I’m available. What do You want to say to me?” Focus your mind and heart on Him. Expect that He has something to share.
Activation:
Take three minutes right now to be still in His presence. Acknowledge any distractions that arise and gently cast them aside, reminding yourself to fix your eyes on Jesus. Grab your journal and write down any impressions, thoughts, or revelations that come to you during this time.
Remember, your stillness can significantly impact your walk with God. The Holy Spirit is eager to communicate with you. So be still, and allow Him to speak.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to embrace stillness. Teach me to quiet my mind and heart so that I may hear Your voice. I desire to connect with You on a deeper level. Thank You for Your invitation to be still and know that You are God. Amen.
