Reading With the People of God #8 Peace

DAY 26 OF 31

Peace in God’s Faithfulness

Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-23 — "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."

Reflection:
Looking back on the year, there were likely moments when life felt overwhelming, yet God’s faithfulness carried us through. Sometimes, His steady presence is clearer in hindsight than it was in the moment. Take some time to reflect:

  • Where did you experience God’s peace and presence, even in challenging times?
  • What burdens did you carry that God helped you endure?

Prayer:
Spend a few moments in prayer, sharing the heavy moments from this past year with the Lord. Thank Him for being faithful even when things felt hard, and reaffirm your trust in Him as you carry any lingering burdens.

Sample Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness through every season of my life, even in the hardest times. Help me see Your hand at work as I reflect on this past year. I trust that You have been with me every step of the way, and I give You the burdens I still carry. Let Your peace fill my heart as I continue to trust in You. Amen.

About this Plan

Reading With the People of God #8 Peace

Fear touches every life—whether through childhood worries, family anxieties, or mistakes we try to avoid. But Advent invites us to hope for a new reality ruled by peace, not fear. The Son of God entered our broken world to comfort us, overcome fear, and bring lasting peace. May His gospel of peace fill your heart throughout this Advent season! This month’s reading plan follows the lectionary pattern with daily passages from the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament, accompanied by Advent devotionals in partnership with 1517.org on the theme of Peace.
