EquipHer Vol. 4: "Unlocking Your Power of Influence"Sample
Day 2: Servant Leadership
Jesus perfectly demonstrated the heart of true leadership: putting the needs of others before our own. In John 13:12-17, He washed His disciples' feet, performing an incredibly humbling act towards his servants. This act shows us that true leadership is measured by the desire to put others first. Even in today’s world, which often celebrates personal success and power, leadership that aims to serve others creates a lasting and genuine impact. Think of Jesus: His life and example of serving others not only radically changed His disciples but also transformed the world over the centuries.
Servant leadership requires vulnerability and availability. When we care for those around us, we build relationships of trust and genuine support. The Bible urges us to bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2) and to consider others as more important than ourselves (Philippians 2:3-4). Whether it’s helping a coworker or dedicating time to our family, we are called to lead and impact the lives of those around us with a heart devoted to service.
Reflective Question: Today, what is one way you can embrace a servant leadership style? How might your work environment, family life, or friendships change if you chose to serve those around you rather than striving to get ahead?
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for Your example of servant leader. Help me develop a sincere heart devoted to service, creating a meaningful impact in the lives of those around me. Teach me to lead with love, serving others with all my heart. Amen.
