DAY 3 OF 5

Overcoming Doubt and Fear

Writing, especially when you are sharing personal stories or Kingdom truths, can stir up doubt and fear. “What if no one reads it? What if I’m not good enough?” These thoughts can paralyze your creativity. But God has not given you a spirit of fear. Instead, He has given you the power to write boldly, the love to care deeply about the message, and the self-discipline to finish the work He has called you to.

Fear may try to stop you from writing, but remember that it is not from God. Lean into the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome your insecurities and doubts. God will equip you with everything you need to write with confidence.

Practical Application:

Identify the fears or doubts that have been holding you back in your writing. These doubts and fears are often rooted in lies. Write them down and then pray over each one, asking Holy Spirit to remind you of His truth over every one of those statements. Thank Him for the boldness, power, and self-discipline to overcome them.

Prayer:

Father, I confess that I sometimes feel fearful and inadequate in my writing. But I know You have not given me a spirit of fear. Thank you for giving me a spirit of love, power, and self-discipline. You exchanged my fear with boldness, my doubt with confidence, and my insecurity with faith in Your calling. Thank you Holy Spirit for empowering me to persevere in this calling You have given me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
