Lie: Sin’s Not A Big Deal

It’s so easy to downplay the seriousness of our sin. The lie that sin isn’t a big deal can creep into our minds and our lives. We can persuade ourselves to dismiss its consequences or normalize behavior that is contrary to the way that God has asked us to live. The Bible is clear that sin is not something to be taken lightly. Unforgiven sin separates us from spending Eternity with God. And in our life now, it can make us feel distant from Him.

Jesus’ Sacrifice on the Cross shows us the weight of sin. If sin wasn’t a big deal then His Suffering and Death would have been unnecessary. We can only truly accept Jesus’ Sacrifice once we understand the seriousness of sin. The great thing for us is that God offers forgiveness to us! He sent His Son to die in our place so that we would not have to!

This is a Free Gift that God offers us, and it is received by admitting your sins, asking God for forgiveness, and making Him your Savior! Maybe you have made it this far, but you have never made that decision and invited God into your heart. It’s as simple as praying a prayer and inviting God into your life.

Here is a prayer that you could pray to invite God into your life:

“Dear God, I know I’ve sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe Jesus died so that I could be saved. Please come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior. Help me live for You for the rest of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!”
