9 Days of Gratitude and ThankfulnessSample
God Is Omniscient
God knows everything. Nothing exists that God doesn’t know about, making God Omniscient. He can never be surprised or shocked by anything. There is no new information that can ever be presented to God. God will never be surprised by a human’s discovery of a new animal, plant, or idea. He has nothing to learn because He already knows.
When He set the world into motion, He knew everything there could be to learn from before time to Eternity. How powerful that the instruction He gave to the patriarchs of the faith thousands of years ago would stand up against any cultural change or trend and be relevant for all of His people throughout all time.
God’s Word does not become invalid because society and culture change. His design and role for men and women is the same today as when He first spoke it to Man. God’s design that His people would not steal, lie, or have any other gods before Him applies today just as before. He knew His Ways would seem foolish to those who don’t know Him.
This foolish Plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s Weakness is “stronger than the greatest of human strength” (1 Corinthians 1:25).
The God of the Universe, who set the world and time into motion, created you! He set you apart for His Glory and called you His child. What a blessing to be known intimately by the Almighty God! Think about this for yourself: He knew you when He created the Earth. When He created the laws, He knew you. When He sent His Son to die on behalf of the world, He knew you. He has always known everything about you, from exactly when you would be formed in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139) to the moment you’ll take your last breath on Earth and enter into Eternity with Him. You’ve always mattered to Him, and you always will! The Love of the Father cannot compare with anything else.
Father, there is no one like You! You know everything that ever has been and ever will be. There is nothing that I can hold back from You, and nothing will ever surprise You. Thank You for knowing everything about me and loving me! Thank You for being the Wisest and Greatest Counselor because You know exactly how things will be. You are so Good, and I praise You for who You are! Amen.
Journal Writing/Prayer Prompt:
Write about a time that you were so thankful to know that God was there with you, understanding that He saw everything you were enduring and that you were trusting and looking for Him.
Reflect back on a time when you wished you had talked to God first but didn’t. How do you think the situation would have been different if you had gone to God first? Journal to God what you wish you had said.
