Daily Nuggets of Grace - Part 8: Peacemaker!Sample
The Perfect Blend of Grace and Truth
Jesus came in human flesh while still embodied with God’s divine glory. He also blended perfectly amazing grace and absolute truth.
Jesus is full of grace and full of truth. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit define grace and truth for us. They are given to us in words and shown by God's actions.
Truth was important to Jesus. He knew there is no other way to the Father except through Him. He knew that there was no other way for sin to washed away except through His atoning death. Jesus knew that His resurrection was the only avenue where we could find eternal life. He also knew that our sins keep us from experiencing the fellowship that God desires.
Truth was extremely important to Jesus, but He led with grace. When He talked with Nicodemus in John chapter 3, Jesus challenged his understanding, which caused him to ask the right questions. Jesus led Nicodemus to discover the truth, and the entire conversation was drenched in grace.
In the next chapter (John 4), Jesus confronts a woman who was living in sin. Jesus did not condemn her, but clearly stated the truth about her situation, soaking the situation with grace so the woman was drawn to Him.
On the contrary, we often find it easy to be small-minded, slipping into legalism. Instead of coming with judgment, we need to learn to blend grace and truth as Jesus did. Without compromising truth, we need to be filled with grace.
We need to learn that it is God’s grace that brings change to people, not our judgmental attitudes.
So, Reflect and Respond:
If Jesus came only in truth, how would He have confronted you? How can you blend grace and truth as you interact with people around you?
Now, Let’s Pray
Father, as your hands and feet in this world, I need Your grace and truth to shine through me. Amen.
Now, let’s dive into the scriptures of this theme…
