Daniel

DAY 12 OF 12

And lastly, how do we ‘live out’ Daniel?

1) Daniel obeyed the Word of God:
He refused to compromise with idolatry – even in the face of death; 6:6-12.
He held firmly to the overarching truth that the Most High rules over the kingdoms of this earth and he sets over them whoever he wishes; 4:17.
His life and perspective on the future were orientated around what God had spoken in scripture; 9:2.

2) Daniel followed the Spirit of God:
Like Daniel disciples of Jesus will ‘earnestly desire spiritual gifts
especially the gift of prophecy’ because our Father in Heaven reveals
mysteries; 2:28.

3) Daniel excelled in his earthly life:
Daniel excelled because he worked conscientiously for successive emperors over many years and is therefore an impressive example for us to follow; 1:20, 6:3-5.
In our discipleship, there will be times when we shall need to separate from human systems that seek to control our lives; 1:9, 6:6-12.

4) Daniel learned how to stand before God in heaven;
His life was structured around prayer: 6:10 & 9:1-19. His prayers were heard in heaven and answered on earth. And through what he did and said on earth, many (including even the emperor Nebuchadnezzar) were brought into a knowledge of God in heaven.

A prayer: ‘We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, Amen: (Colossians 1:9-11).

About this Plan

Daniel

Through a series of dramatic visions, Daniel prophesies that ‘one like a son of man’ is coming from heaven to establish God’s kingdom on earth. The book gives penetrating insights into the prophetic lifestyle of a man in a high administrative office; an intercessor and a person of integrity, godliness, and courage. Daniel contains a feast of treasures to inspire and help us in our discipleship.
