Happily Ever After: And Everything BeforeSample
When was the last time you got really mad? Or what about feeling deeply sad? Or super worried? Chances are that an answer probably immediately popped into your mind. That’s because those feelings, though not always fun, are part of life. They’re normal! However, even when we know experiencing those feelings is to be expected, we sometimes still find ourselves wondering if we’re doing something wrong when it comes our way. After all, aren’t we supposed to be happy all the time if we’re following Jesus?
The answer to that question is a big NO! God created us as humans to feel a wide range of feelings. And that means God isn’t surprised, disappointed, or upset at anything we feel. Because we belong to God, the One who made us, we can trust that God understands how we feel and loves us unconditionally in all of it.
This week, write down some of the things you’re feeling as you feel them. Don’t be shy! Write it all down—the good, the bad, and everything in between. At the end of the week, write this verse over those feelings to remind you that there’s no shame or embarrassment about anything you feel. In God, you can find comfort.
