DAY 2 OF 5

Eternal Impact: The Woman at the Well and Sharing the Gospel

In John 4, we learn about the woman at the well. Jesus meets her and the woman’s life is radically changed. Let’s look at this encounter and learn how we can use Jesus’ responses to bring hope to our hallways.

In verse 6, Jesus is tired from His journey and decides to rest at the well. His rest was interrupted by the woman coming to get water, but He welcomed the interruption. What would it look like if we allowed interruptions in our life? How would our interactions change if we slowed down and connected with others in the way Jesus did?

In verse 9, we see the woman question Jesus’ request. In that time, the Jews and Samaritans had differences in beliefs which caused tension. Jesus knew of these tensions but despite this, He chose to interact with the woman to show her His love. There will be people in our schools who have different beliefs, but Jesus’ response to the woman challenges us to speak the truth in love.

In verses 28-30, after her encounter with Jesus, the woman returns to town to spread the news about what she experienced. She couldn’t help but share her testimony! In our schools, there is an urgency to spread the good news but also talk about how Jesus has transformed our lives through our personal experiences with Him.

Let’s bring hope for our hallways by welcoming interruptions, responding in love, and telling others about the good news of Jesus!
