The Power of Your DreamsSample
THE NIGHT IS THE BEGINNING
Although we typically perceive a new day as commencing when we wake up in the morning, the Bible presents evening as the beginning of the day. Genesis 1:5 enlightens us with the statement “The evening and the morning were the first day.” Here, “evening” refers to nighttime. Our day actually begins in the early hours of the night.
When we grasp the truth that our dreams serve as a conduit for divine revelation and insight from God, we gain a fresh perspective on how these nocturnal visions empower us for the coming day. Dreams possess the remarkable ability to provide us with wisdom, guidance, and understanding that can shape our thoughts, decisions, and actions. They offer a unique encounter with the spiritual realm, where communication with God takes place within the depths of our subconscious mind.
By fully embracing the importance of dreams, we come to realize that our relationship with God extends beyond the confines of our waking hours. We understand that the revelations we receive through our dreams provide us with spiritual discernment that profoundly influences our interactions, choices, and reactions in the world. This recognition of the value of dreams empowers us to live a life fueled by their divine guidance, infusing each new day with renewed purpose and a heightened sense of clarity.
As we saw in Day 2, Joseph had a dream in the night that he acted upon in the morning by taking Jesus and Mary to safety. There are other examples in Scripture of the same kind of thing happening. For example,
- Pilate’s wife dreamt of Jesus’ innocence and urgently warned her husband against condemning Him.
- Solomon received a dream in which God offered him wisdom, riches, and honor, shaping his reign as king.
The heavenly Father will encounter us, too, in our sleep, giving us information that can guide us in the daylight hours ahead. This is how we lead a dream-empowered life. It’s a transformative journey that will leave us forever changed.
