Bible Survey: Part TwoSample
Solomon’s building projects continued. This was a testimony to his wealth and security and a fulfillment of God’s promise to David in 2 Samuel 7. Along with Solomon building a house for God, he built one for himself. It took 13 years to build, so it was more than basic shelter. It is a hint of coming trouble. Solomon’s character was starting to be compromised by wealth.
The theme of God’s faithfulness in the midst of a person’s unfaithfulness continues. How do we get distracted from our relationship with God? I’m glad to know that God is faithful despite my failures, but how much better it would be if I could remain faithful.
