The King of IsraelSample

Day 3 - Making God's Salvation Known
The Messiah will not only bring back the exiles of Israel. He must also make the name of God known among all nations. But wait a minute ... wasn't that Israel's own calling? You can read this as early as Deuteronomy: if Israel would follow God's commandments, the rest of the world should be in awe of Israel's God and worship Him. That mandate has not been lifted with Jesus' coming. The King of Israel only precedes His people in making God's salvation known. He shows the way, as it were. Thus He gathers not only the Jews, but also the other nations, until the great day of God's Kingdom dawns.
Take a moment to reflect on the fact that God promised all this to Israel. When the Lord called Abram, He already promised that in his descendants all the generations of the earth would be blessed. We are not the recipients of this promise, but of its effect! We are those "believers from among the nations"; believers in the God of Israel. We are saved by the King of Israel. And the prophets foretold that in the future we will worship God in Jerusalem.
Jesus himself said that first all nations must hear the gospel before God's Kingdom dawns. We are witnesses to this in our time. Through modern media, the name of God can be known to the ends of the earth. Thus, our salvation is not complete without Israel being in the holy land, and Israel will not be completely redeemed until we have heard the gospel.
Marvel today at God's special plan for Israel and for the whole world.
