DAY 3 OF 7

Renewing Your Mind

So, you've accepted Christ, and made the turn in the right direction. You may ask, what's next? Now it's time to renew your mind.

The meaning of the word "renew" is to make something new again. It reminds me of a time I had to renew my license. The line was extremely long! There were so many people there for the same thing. So I had a choice to make. Do I stay and wait? Or do I leave and take my chances with the law? I chose to wait it out. I was determined to get renewed. With renewing your mind you have to have that same determination! But one of the things I love about God, is that we can all come to Him at the same time and get tended to simultaneously.

How do I renew my mind? I'm glad you asked. Every day you wake up, make it a priority to seek God's face. Set aside alone time where you can talk to God. Also, be open and ready to listen and heed to His voice.

Which brings me to my next point. In order to truly renew our minds, we have to learn the mind of Christ. Philippians 2 is a great passage to learn more about just that. It talks about how Jesus carried himself as a servant, all while knowing He was equal with God. That says a lot! We have to renew our minds not to serve our flesh, but to be a servant of the Lord.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for today. I thank you for the mind that you've given me. But I pray now that you renew it. Keep me under Your will. Help me on this journey, because I can't do this on my own. Help me to keep you at the center of all that I do. Forgive my prideful ways. In Jesus name, amen.

Action: Set some alarms throughout the day to commune with God. This will help you get in the habit of prioritizing your time with God.
