Open yourself to God’s presence. Ask God to speak to you and to reveal Himself through His Word. Then read the passage.
REFLECT AND WRITE.
• What illustration of the tongue stands out most to you (see vv. 3–12)? Why? How can our tongues get us into trouble with both God and man?
• When have words been used to hurt you? Where do you struggle to control what comes out of your mouth?
• When has someone blessed you with their words about you? When have you spoken words that blessed someone else?
