Stories of Prayer in the BibleSample

Deborah's Song of Praise
Deborah is the first female leader recorded in the Bible! Her job was to make sure the people of Israel knew what God wanted them to do, and that they were following his commands.
One day, God told Deborah that his people were to go into battle against their enemies. When they won the war, Deborah led a victory song praising God for inspiring bravery for Israel’s leaders and people and leading them to a victorious outcome.
Prayers aren’t limited to spoken word, and Deborah shows us this. Her song acts as a prayer that celebrates God's faithfulness. Offering prayers and songs of thankfulness helps us recognize his role in our lives and reminds us of what he’s capable of.
