A Merry and Bright Adventure for ChristmasSample
Generosity Transforms Lives
The saying, “Let’s keep Christ in Christmas” is a common phrase this time of year, but have you thought about what it really means? How can we keep Christ in Christmas? Is it by saying “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays”? Is it by reading the story of Christ’s birth in our Bibles? Or is it something more?
The Advent season leading up to Christmas is known as a time of giving. People pay more attention to the needs of those around them and look for additional ways to serve their communities. How does your family give during this season?
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, it’s only fitting that we seek to give and bless others. Jesus modeled a life of selflessness and generosity for us. He loved people with His words and His actions. He was moved with compassion and reached out to the lost, hurting, and broken.
Jesus also took care of the practical needs of people, like feeding the multitudes so they wouldn’t have to walk home hungry. He spent His life serving others. If we want to be more like Jesus, we will live a life of service, compassion, and generosity too.
In a season where it’s easy to get caught up in all the gifts, treats, and experiences that we want for ourselves, let’s make sure we remember our Savior and seek to put the needs of others above ourselves. Let’s live generously and love boldly. Let’s invest our time, talents, and resources to make the world a better place by showing the love of Christ in practical and tangible ways.
