Reading With the People of God - #4 Comfort

DAY 10 OF 31

Our Faithful Savior

"...to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ."

Jesus is not just our Savior; He is our faithful Savior. His faithfulness is a constant source of strength and comfort. Hebrews 13:8 reminds us, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

In a world of uncertainty and change, Jesus remains steadfast. His faithfulness assures us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. This unwavering commitment is the foundation of our trust and the reason we can confidently belong to Him.

Reflect on the faithfulness of Jesus in your life. How has He demonstrated His steadfast love and care for you? Allow His faithfulness to deepen your trust and reliance on Him.

Spend time in prayer, praising Jesus for His faithfulness. Thank Him for His constant presence and ask Him to help you remain faithful in your walk with Him.

Today's prayer of illumination:

Heavenly Father, open our hearts to fully grasp the faithfulness of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In a world of change, help us find strength and comfort in His unwavering love. Deepen our trust and reliance on Him, and guide us to remain faithful in our walk. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Memorization Challenge of the Month:

Heidelberg Catechism Q&A 1

Q1. What is your only comfort in life and in death?

A1. That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
