Jesus, my savior from sin

I remember like it was yesterday, the day Jesus came into my heart, May 29th, 1988, a Sunday morning, in a church down the road from the tutorial classes I attended while I was preparing for my final professional accounting exams (ICAN/CPA). I understood what the word of God meant. Jesus took my sins away, and I felt free; I wasn’t carrying the weight of my sin anymore. It says Jesus came to take away my sin, and so I raised my hand and walked forward to the alter to accept Jesus’ offer of new life; as I did, I felt as if a heavy load of sin in two baskets that I was carrying on my shoulders, was lifted off by divine hands.

I sang all the way home, very happily and rather loudly. I had never felt as free as that in my entire life.
