Climbing HigherSample
My daughter and I were preparing for a six-mile hike up Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo, TX. We left our hotel for the trail bright and early. We were not, however, ready for the bitter cold! We spent almost an hour going from store to store before we located hats, gloves, and earmuffs. However, by the time we arrived at the trail, the sun was shining so brightly that we had to take off our coats and gloves and tuck the newly purchased hats into our pockets. We didn’t need any of those things that we thought we needed.
Life tends to work in the same way. We are constantly searching for the next “thing” we think we need, but God already has it taken care of. He sees ahead of us and knows exactly what we need, even when we don't. Just like the unexpected change in weather, life can be unpredictable. But instead of worrying and striving to prepare for every possible scenario, we can trust in God's provision and timing. He guides us through the twists and turns, ensuring we have what we truly need when we need it. Our job is to walk in faith, knowing that He is always one step ahead, preparing the way for us.
Today, make a list of the resources and people God has placed in your life. Thank God for each one and ask Him to help you see how they can aid you in your journey.
