Proverbs teaches us that true Wisdom and Discernment come from the Lord. It’s easy to search online for answers for your life and read many books to help you find your Purpose, but this passage emphasizes God as the Source of Wisdom; those who earnestly seek Him will be granted Knowledge and Understanding.

The text makes clear that the Lord bestows Wisdom. From His Mouth comes Knowledge and Comprehension. Discernment is a Divine Gift, requiring a relationship with God. He graciously imparts Wisdom to those who sincerely seek Him. God’s Wisdom is reserved for those who live righteously and strive to follow His Ways. A person with integrity lives in genuine inner alignment with Biblical principles. He or she demonstrates a heart transformed and in love with God.

Moreover, God guards the paths of justice and watches over His faithful ones. Walking in His Wisdom provides protection and guidance, acting as a safeguard that steers us along the right path and shields us from harm. Adhering to God’s Word ensures we tread on safe ground. This does not guarantee the absence of suffering, but it prevents our own foolishness from being the source.

When you embrace God’s Wisdom, you gain an understanding of righteousness, justice, equity, and every good path. Rejecting worldly wisdom and embracing God’s Wisdom leads us to have lives characterized by Understanding and Righteousness. We attain clarity on what is just and fair according to God’s Standards, not the world’s. We gain a Discerning Heart that delights in God’s Truth, experiences Peace, and is wholly satisfied.

Living by God's Wisdom also means rejecting the ways of the wicked by turning away from evil influences and rejecting values that contradict God’s Word. The wicked forsake uprightness, rejoice in evil, and delight in perversity. As believers, we are called to reject these paths, remaining steadfast on the Path of Righteousness.

Reflect on the source of the wisdom and discernment you currently seek. Are you turning to God and His Word, or are you being influenced by worldly views? Commit to pursuing Wisdom from the True Source – God Himself. Embrace His Word, live with integrity, and experience His Protection and Guidance. This is the pathway to True Discernment, leading to a life of Righteousness and Peace.
