This function of the remote is the one that causes the most trouble in our household! My husband likes to be the king of the remote, sitting enthroned on the sofa, scrolling through the guide, checking out what’s on every channel before making his final viewing decision. He flicks (way too quickly for my liking) through the offerings, regularly asking me ‘have we seen that’ even though he asked me the exact same question about the exact same programmes the night before! Anyone else experience these frustrations?! I’m sure he’d like to use the mute button on me at times!

Sometimes when I use the guide button myself (when the king is out of town!), my issue is not the choices on offer, but that I just don't know what I’m in the mood for. Do I want serious drama, a documentary, a fluffy romance or something to make me laugh? I can’t always seem to settle on exactly what I want to view.

I’m at a similar place in my personal life. I feel a little bit stuck and stale and I know I need a new challenge. A couple of options have popped up as recommendations if you will. I like the sound of both options, but I just cannot decide which is the right one. I don’t know what I’m in the mood for. More importantly, I don’t yet know what God wants me to do. God is my ultimate guide and I’m looking to him to help me in my decisions. I want to take the way forward that he wants for me, where I can be best placed to serve him and others. Today, I honestly don’t know which option that is. But I’m continuing to pray and ask for help from God, my guide. I hope that I hear his voice letting me know which way to go soon. If you are in a similar place, I’m praying the same for you too.

Prayer - God I ask for divine wisdom. I have decisions to make about my future and I want to be right where you want me to be. Amidst all of the noise and all of the great looking recommendations available on the guide function of my life, please highlight the one that is right for me. Amen.
