Embrace of the Humble: 7 Ways to Grow in Your ServitudeSample
What still shapes you today?
For years, this phrase shaped me, "How can you even run with that much fat?" I probably don't have to explain that to me this meant something like, "You're ugly, you're too fat, no one loves you."
At the same time, though, my parents told me, "Déborah, we love you. You are so beautiful!"
And yes, at the same time, I also read, "... I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14 NIV)
Even though this was proof that the negative statement could not be true, I chose to believe it.
My life would have been completely different if I had made the right decision at that time. Do you see how much power your decision has over which thoughts you believe?
And are you aware that you can "serve" your thoughts?
The word "serve" actually means to help someone, to support someone. It can also mean to obey or be subordinate to someone. And this is where it gets dangerous.
If you serve the wrong thought, you are subordinating yourself to that statement. One that may have been spoken over you many years ago but which has nothing to do with God's truth! You can let yourself be destroyed by it, as harsh as that sounds.
I would like to stand beside you right now and ask you personally if you are aware of what false thought you may have unknowingly been serving over the past few years. I would like to help you destroy it once and for all. I pray that the Holy Spirit will help you now to break away from this.
I got my tip on this from the Bible:
"Test all things; hold fast what is good.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21 NKJV)
Expose the lies and discover the truth!
The truth will ALWAYS set you free, even if the lie held you captive for years!
You are a miracle!

About this Plan
Humility starts when we serve others, whether we feel like it or not. Let’s be honest, though - sometimes that can be very hard. So how can we embrace humility and serve those in our lives, whether they are easy or hard to serve?
