Be EncouragedSample
Out of rage and frustration, the pastor supposed, tears started running down his face. Finally, in shame, he shook his head tearfully and left. A few days later, the woman thanked him and said, "Pastor, you always seem to know just what to say. You cared enough to sit and cry with me. I needed that." The pastor said, “I guess I did, too.”
As ministers, there are sermons we preach, or lessons we teach, that are designed to push you to a higher level. We can drive, and prod, and urge you on. I believe, though, that there are times we don’t need to be told what to do or to feel the pressure to do better. Sometimes we just need to shed a tear together and know someone cares and God cares and He is going to help you make it
John 16:33 tells us, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Jesus shared that truth shared earlier, that things happen in life just because it’s life. As a Christian, we are not exempt from life’s difficulties. Matthew 5:45 reminds us, “That you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” We should realize that bad things happen to everyone.
