[Deeply Rooted] God Is for UsSample
God Loves Us
Love is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days. We love pizza, love our shoes, or love a new show that we found on Netflix. With such a broad range of feelings and meanings behind the word “love,” it’s no wonder that many of us don’t think much about the fact that God loves us!
But It’s so important that we know this. Knowing that God loves us is the final anchor of truth that we’ll be looking at through this devotional. As we continue to consider ways to stay firm in our faith through trials, we have to know how marvelous it is that God loves us.
He doesn’t just love us like we love our car or our newest digital device. The Bible says that God loves us with an everlasting love. That’s a big love! That’s a love that never changes. Everything around us may change, but God’s love is unwavering, regardless of our circumstances. When we’ve lost our jobs, God loves us. When we’ve lost a loved one, God loves us. When we’ve lost our confidence and begin to lose our faith, God loves us. What amazing love!
So, how do we reconcile God’s love in light of our suffering? If God loves us so much, then why does He let us go through so much pain?
There is no easy answer to this question, but there is something we can be sure of: God has endured suffering, and He knows the pain of living in a broken world. As a human being, Jesus faced the cross and all of its humiliations, and He did it for love. He did it for us. We don’t serve a God who doesn’t understand pain. We serve a God who has borne more than we can ever imagine because He loves us.
The trials of life are painful but inevitable. Peter, a disciple of Jesus, even tells us that we shouldn’t be surprised when trials come. But when they do come, we can be sure that God sees us, is with us, and loves us. We are never alone or forgotten. God is good, and even in our pain, He has a good plan. Continue to trust Him today and know He loves you. He loves you so much.
Thought of the Day: How astonishing it is to know that God loves me! The circumstances of my life might make me feel forgotten or alone, but God’s Word tells me that I am loved and in His hands.

About this Plan
Life often throws unexpected challenges and trials our way. It can be hard to trust that God is with us when circumstances become overwhelming, adversity seems unending, and darkness feels all-consuming. This devotional offers a message of hope for those who are suffering and reminds us that God is with us and for us in the midst of our pain.
