Before God created the world, there was nothing. It started from nothing—chaos and darkness over the world. What changed? God! God spoke light into the darkness and created order. What was once dark suddenly became full of light. Sometimes, we can forget our God's enormous power and strength—the God who made something from nothing! God spoke the light into existence! God designed the universe and all its structure so that every piece of it would work together. And that includes us! The same light God spoke into the world is the same at work in us. The light will calm the chaos in our hearts if we let it.

The next time you feel surrounded by chaos, remember that God speaks light into the darkness. The same light that came over the world is at work in your life today, and that’s pretty cool!
