Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts" (Isaiah 6:5).
Has the holiness of God driven you to your knees?
Isaiah receives a vision of God who is “high and lifted up” (Isaiah 6:1). He then observes the seraphim (literally “burning ones”). “And one cried to another and said: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!’” (Isaiah 6:3). Thrice the word “holy” is attributed to God and appears as a superlative; He alone is holy! Isaiah understands his own sinfulness and the peoples as a result of the vision. He is cleansed of his sin (Isaiah 6:7) and responds to the call of God: “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8).
Employment Point: Allow God’s holiness to humble you and to prepare you for service.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
