Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Do you serve God with an undivided heart?
King Asa exhibits great faith while serving the Lord. His army consists of 580,000 men (2 Chronicles 14:8). “Then Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men” (2 Chronicles 14:9). By faith, Asa leads his troops to victory against overwhelming odds. Yet later, he makes an agreement with the king of Syria for military protection against another foe instead of trusting in the Lord (2 Chronicles 16:7-8). God’s eyes scan the globe looking for a servant “whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). “Loyal” means to be complete, whole, and undivided. Completely follow the Lord, unlike Asa, who did not in his sunset years (2 Chronicles 16:12).
Employment Point: Loyally follow God with an undivided heart, even when the enemy vastly outnumbers you.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
