The Faith Code: 14 Day Devotional

DAY 1 OF 14

Unlocking the Faith Code - by Stepping Through the Door

The world has changed as much in the first few decades of the twenty-first century as it did in all of the twentieth, and the changes we will see in the coming years will transform the world even further. With each new technological and cultural shift we are forced to question much of what has gone before, and what will become of our lives ahead. The need to be able to pivot should never take us by surprise. Yet again and again over the years, we come back to the same question in different forms: what does it mean to live “a good life”? God’s plan for our lives demands growth. And the world needs us more than ever to be responsible, thoughtful, and loving in the way that we show up for it.

Today’s computers, phones, and tablets operate according to sets of instructions called programs or code. Our faith life is much the same—in order to have a well-functioning and thriving life with Jesus, we need proper programming—we need a “Faith Code.” In an age when new ideas, trends, and innovations can alter the world overnight, knowing who we are in spirit, soul, mind, and body is more essential than ever. And it’s only by first interacting with the principles for living that Jesus used to “disrupt” His world, that we can get an understanding of how we are to influence our own. Everything begins with Jesus. He is the Good Shepherd and He is the door to a meaningful relationship with God—offering security, guidance, and abundant life to those who enter through Him.

Prayer

Lord, as we embark on this two-week devotional journey, may we be inspired to influence the world around us, and feel confident knowing that when we step through the door, we are promised abundant life by the one who ultimately gave His life for us.
