Peace in an Anxious WorldSample
Day 3
"...As a man thinketh in his heart, so shall He be..." - Proverbs 23:7.
You are what you think! What are you thinking about today? Do you ever think about what you are thinking? It is important to know our minds will quickly go down the wrong rabbit hole if we let it. But God has given us control over our minds, and we can learn to think in a new way! Even more so, today’s Scripture shows us that we become, or we are, as we think.
Research is even now showing us that the Bible has known for ages. “That what we think, becomes our reality.” Many studies show that so many illnesses stem from mental patterns, more than anything spiritual. In other words, toxic thinking can lead to unhealthy realities and physical manifestations.
I have been on a journey in my life to think better and to surrender the thoughts that randomly come into my mind under the power of Jesus, so I can rectify them.
I have learned when bad news is received, or there is an event or decision awaiting me, to decide to think optimistically about it, instead of allowing myself to speculate and imagine negative outcomes. God wants to empower us to choose to think better!
Make a commitment and declaration to imagine your life and future as fruitful and positive. Catch yourself when your mind is beginning to think negatively, because God has given the power through his Word and presence to do so! Our minds can be reprogrammed, or in biblical terms, renewed, to think healthily and react positively to doubt and anxiety. I thank God that He has promised us a good future. He has given us so much to be grateful for, and we know He is a gracious, loving God. But we can also take a stand against the lies of the enemy, stresses of life, and toxic-thought patterns to think and live better. Because that which we think and believe, will be the reality and future we live.
