From Now On

DAY 18 OF 28

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Romans 12:9–16 again.

  • How is love described in this passage?
  • What does it teach us about trusting Jesus's love for us?
  • Did any of the actions or attitudes stand out to you? Which ones?

A: Application

  • Because you're loved, you don't have to wait to show others love. Who's someone you can put first today?
  • What do you think it looks like to live in harmony with others? What role can you play in doing that?
  • What do you think could change in your school, family, or team if you were to put the commands in this passage into action?

P: Prayer

Spend some time in prayer about the commands listed in today's passage. Ask for help trusting Jesus that you can show that kind of love to others because of his love for you. Then, say thank you for all the ways God has shown you that kind of love through the actions of others.

About this Plan

From Now On

During his time on Earth, Jesus' message was clear—from now on, things will be different. Jesus spent his life showing people how God wanted to connect with them and help them connect with each other. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore stories from the Gospels and discover the life Jesus invites us into and how following Jesus can completely change our lives.
