On Repeat

DAY 18 OF 28

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Ephesians 4:22–24 again.

  • What stands out to you?
  • How do you think this passage connects to the idea of caring for others?
  • Where does the passage indicate change begins?

A: Application

  • What might hold you back from wanting to care for people by meeting their needs when you feel hesitant?
  • What does this passage invite us to do differently?
  • According to the passage, what's the goal of being made new? How would doing so change how you approach caring for others?

P: Prayer

Talk to God about an old way of thinking you'd like to do away with in order to be made new. Ask God to remove any selfish attitudes you might have so you can see what others need more clearly. Then, thank God for the work happening in your life and opportunities to care for those around you.

About this Plan

On Repeat

When music connects with us, we can play a song on repeat and never get tired of it. When Jesus taught his followers what it looked like to live for God, he wanted them to get that same feeling. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore the ways Jesus treated people and how we can make loving like Jesus a part of our lives.
