At the end of every week, we'll give you a challenge—something to try that might be outside your regular routine. Each challenge is designed to help you develop one important spiritual habit. This week, it's...
USE YOUR GIFTS
God has given all of us unique gifts. Whether it's your skills, talents, character traits, experiences, lessons learned, or even some of the stuff you own, you have a lot you can share with others. Today's challenge is going to help you think about the gifts God has uniquely given you, and how you can use those gifts to love God and others. Because when we use our gifts for God, we grow!
CHALLENGE
This week, we talked about the wisdom God gives. This wisdom is meant to make our lives better, but it's also meant to improve the lives of those around us. Today, look for a way to follow God's guidance in an area of your life where you have leadership or influence.
- THINK ABOUT WHERE YOU HAVE INFLUENCE: Maybe you're on student council, part of a club, or on a team. You could have younger siblings or cousins that look up to you. Even if you're not team captain or first chair or don't feel like you're in charge, you still have influence just by showing up.
- LIST WAYS YOU THINK THINGS CAN IMPROVE: Is there a fight among teammates that needs to be settled or a fundraiser that needs to be planned? Or is there something that's working fine, but you think your group could take it to the next level?
- TALK TO GOD ABOUT YOUR ROLE: Even if you're not team captain or first chair or don't feel like you're in charge, you still have influence just by showing up. Your role might be as a peacemaker, a leader, or a voice of reason.
- MAKE A PLAN: Knowing what needs to happen isn't the same as making it happen. Take time today to write down where and when you plan to take action. It could be a conversation that needs to happen or an idea you'll bring up at a future meeting or practice.
BONUS: Repeat this process for another place where you have influence. Chances are there's more than one!

About this Plan
Coaches create the strategy, put together a game plan, and send their players out to make it happen. Wouldn't it be nice for someone to do that for all of our decisions? In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore Proverbs and Epistles to help us learn how God guides us toward wisdom and helps us make godly decisions.
