Running From MyselfSample
DYNAMICALLY CHANGED
You’ve heard the saying “A leopard never changes his spots” or “Once an addict, always an addict”? Well with God a leopard can change his spots and an addict can never be an addict again.
God wants to set us free from our chains, he wants to give us a new heart and he wants us to stay changed. He tells us we are a new creation when we are in Christ. Our bodies are now temples for the Holy Spirit to dwell.
With our new heart, the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us, God’s word & prayer we can make different choices. We have hope that our future will be different from our past. When we are weak we have strength that comes from God. We have a peace that doesn’t make any worldly sense. And when troubles come at us, which they will do, becoming a Christian doesn’t mean we will never face a trial again, but when they come we can lean on all of the above and stand firm.
I don’t know about you but my coping mechanisms in my past are not things I would choose to turn to now because, in the long run, they were more destructive than the short fix or high they gave me. I now understand what God has done in my life and I want to honour that even in the hard times. I don’t want to turn back to sin, nor do I want to take advantage of the grace he so freely gives me anew each day.
Whatever life brings from this day forth, keep seeking God with all of your heart. Keep up the spiritual practices of prayer, studying the word and praise. So when those times of fight or flight come, I pray you will be ready to stand strong on the foundation that is Christ.

About this Plan
Have you ever felt like you wanted to run away from a situation, a place, a person, or even yourself? Have you tried everything and don’t know where to turn? Maybe you’ve been told that you will never be able to change. This plan will look at how we can move from desiring change to being dramatically changed and staying changed.
