The Battle Plan for Your Life | Lessons From JerichoSample
If you love The Story of the walls of Jericho in the Bible then you must know that there's a key detail we all tend to forget.
The Jericho story is a fascinating story of victory. The city of Jericho was extremely fortified, making it impossible for people to invade it; and the Israelites were told to do just that.
But they were told not to try and break down the walls with siege weapons, but to simply walk around the city for 7 days, and then blow the trumpets on the last day.
They did just that and as they blew the trumpets and let out a huge shout, the walls came crashing down. It's such an awesome story of victory, and we hear it and think, “well, all I have to do is shout and praise and the impossible will happen.”
But the part we forget is that after the walls came crashing down, the Israelites still had to fight the army of Jericho. The army did not suddenly disappeared along with the walls.
We forget that after the impossible happened, the people of God still had to do the possible.
Singing time was over, it was fighting time now.
Maybe you're sitting in your chair praising God and shouting out His Name for a breakthrough - which is great - but maybe He has already given it to you and it is now time to get up and do the work you've been called to do.
He'll take care of the impossible. You do your part.
Pray as if it depends on Him - because it does.
But work as if it depends on you.
