King & KingdomsSample
Yesterday, we read about how David is a direct foreshadowing of a better, perfect King who would one day come to rescue His people. Jesus is the better David. Even though David ruled with justice and the fear of God, he did not do this perfectly. But Jesus, the perfect King, has and will. Full of justice and fear of His Father, Jesus willingly went to the cross. And we joyfully await the day when Jesus will return and establish His reign forever.
The theme of David's life wasn't pointing people to himself, it was pointing people to the real and full hope we have in Jesus.
Think it Over: Where is your hope today? Where do you need Christ to spark hope in you today?
