PRAYER:
PRAY THAT GOD WOULD HELP YOU BECOME A PERSON OF PRAYER
DEVOTIONAL:
In Nehemiah 4:1-14, we see Nehemiah facing opposition as he works to rebuild the walls of
Jerusalem. Despite the threats and mocking from his enemies, Nehemiah responds with prayer.
He recognizes the importance of seeking God's help and guidance in the face of adversity. Prayer
is not just a religious ritual, but a powerful tool that allows us to communicate with God and seek
His strength and wisdom.
Just as Nehemiah relied on prayer to overcome obstacles, we too must understand the
significance of prayer in our own lives. In times of trouble, uncertainty, or doubt, prayer can
provide us with comfort, peace, and direction. It is through prayer that we can build a deeper
relationship with God and invite His presence into our lives. However, if we are honest, prayer
can be intimidating but thankfully, Jesus provides us a model of how we ought to pray which
begins with approaching God not as a person to be intimidated by but as a Father who loves us.
Let us follow Nehemiah's example and make prayer a priority in our daily lives, trusting that
God hears our prayers and will guide us through any challenges we may face.
Question:
In order to become a person of prayer, it can be helpful to have a place and time of
prayer. This week, how can you make a consistent place and time for prayer?
