God's Redemption Story (The Prophets)Sample

Jeremiah Week 3 – Day 4
Reading the Old Testament prophets can feel overwhelming, like constant bad news. Israel sinned again, destruction is coming again.
But two of the longest chapters in Jeremiah are dedicated to the overthrow of Babylon, the oppressive force against Israel. Babylon also symbolizes the enemy against us—sin, the devil, the world. Babylon destroyed nations around them and then in turn faced its own destruction. Likewise, we can find hope knowing that the current destructive forces of evil and sin will one day be destroyed as well.
Our God is greater than anything we face, anything that threatens to overcome us, anything that feels insurmountable to us.

About this Plan

From Genesis to Revelation, “God’s Redemption Story” outlines the narrative of God’s plan for the reconciliation of humanity. This 12-part reading plan summarizes the story of the Bible. As we read through the prophets we see the primary message was to the nations to stop sinning and return to the Lord.
