Daily Direction Reading Plan

DAY 296 OF 365

Napoleon Hill wrote the book "Think and Grow Rich." To write it, he spoke to hundreds of people who grew rich during the Great Depression. He found that those who grew wealthy had faith, imagination, and persistence. Hill’s ideas still inspire people today. The Apostle Peter wrote to encourage Christians who were facing severe trials because of their faith in Christ. Peter’s strategy was to remind them that despite their suffering, their salvation was secure—unshakable because God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit guaranteed it. Here is how Peter put it in 1 Peter 1: “God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.” Peter knew that with the triune God on our side, we can remain faithful in all our trials.
